this morning when luke woke up, i made him a cup of carnation instant breakfast and then went to feed landon in my room. when i went out to the kitchen, luke was just sitting at the table, eating his yogurt and strawberries...except wait a minute, i didn't give him yogurt and strawberries!! he's notorious for helping himself to whatever he feels like eating, he's even gone as far as cracking eggs in a pan and "cooking" them on the stove (thank goodness he didn't turn on the burner!!!) and he figured out hot dogs in the microwave awhile ago...but today he got out his bowl, got out a butter knife, got his fork, took the strawberries out and cut the tops off, put them in the sink, and sliced them up. he must have decided that yogurt sounded good, too. on one hand i am so proud of him that he thinks about the process it takes to do these things, and is capable, but then on the other hand... does that make me a bad mom??? is that sad that my 2 year old feels like he has to make his own breakfast?? i really would have made it for him if he had asked!
